Use Case

Import MusicXML charts and practice them right away

Move from notation software to a playable jazz practice session in a few clicks, without rebuilding the chart by hand.

A faster path from score to practice

If you already have a chart in MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale, or another notation app, you should not need to re-enter the harmony manually just to rehearse it. MusicXML gives you a clean bridge from written chart to practice workflow.

Chord Progressions can import compatible MusicXML files and turn them into a browser-based jazz play-along. Once the chart is loaded, you can change tempo, loop sections, and practice with piano, bass, and drums immediately.

When this is useful

  • Practicing your own arrangements after exporting them from notation software.
  • Reviewing transcriptions with a backing section underneath the harmony.
  • Testing reharmonizations without rebuilding the chart from scratch.
  • Sharing rehearsal material that can be opened quickly in the browser.

What happens after import

  • The chart is parsed into the app's internal progression format.
  • You can adjust tempo and playback feel to fit the exercise.
  • You can loop sections and use the mixer just like on built-in songs.
  • You can keep iterating without leaving the player.
