Browse backing tracks by category

Start from a practice goal instead of one huge list. Explore 186 backing-track pages grouped into focused sections for harmony, form, rhythm, and trading.

How to use this library

This page is now the main hub for every backing-track family on Chord Progressions. Pick one category based on the skill you want to train, then go deeper inside that section instead of jumping randomly between unrelated tracks.

If your goal is harmony, start with II V I or blues. If your goal is full-form phrasing, move into the jazz standards sections. If your goal is rhythmic hearing, metric modulation and drum trading are the most focused pages.

Backing track categories

Suggested starting points

  • II V I for guide tones, voice leading, and cadence hearing.
  • Blues for form, vocabulary, time feel, and compact melodic development.
  • Jazz Standards for more musical practice on real tune forms.
  • Drum Trading for trading structure, internal pulse, and recovery.
